Supporting 'CROPS'

Open Door Church, Peterborough, regularly gives to support other Christian organisations that share its mission and commitment to Peterborough, the UK and the rest of the world.

CROPS is a Peterborough-based charity focused on communicating the good news about Jesus to the 25,000+ young people in our city. It has been in existence for over 20 years and works in primary and secondary schools across Peterborough. It aims to:

REACH young people with the good news of Jesus
RESOURCE churches and individuals in their work with and witness to young people
RELEASE young people into lives of service by providing training, responsibility and opportunities
RESTORE young people whose lives have been blighted by their experiences

Whilst the team led by Matt Wild, our Director, works every day in primary and secondary schools in the city, CROPS are also responsible for monthly 'The Point' worship events, bi-annual Letton Houseparties and the annual Street Invasion week.
Matt, the only full-time staff member, is supported by Becca Ceasar (Project 567 worker), Sheila Bucknell (Admininstrator), Kyle Armstrong (CYM placement student) and 4 gap-year volunteers. The organisation is financially supported by 20 churches and 40 individuals and our donation was sufficient to cover two days' worth of operations in schools...
