Midweek family Life
Christianity is all about relationships:
- relationship with God
- relationship with one another
- relationship with the world around us
Christianity is not just about turning up 'to church' on a Sunday morning as necessary and wonderful as that is, but it is about building meaningful friendships, sharing lives and encouraging one another as we journey through life in God.
There are many ways in which we can engage with others in (and beyond) the church
-
serving as part of a team - such as set up, KidsChurch, Sunday tea and coffee
-
helping out or popping into the Community Shop at the Open Door Centre (open Mon-Fri)
-
being part of a support group - such as for Christians against Poverty
- helping Mike and Ali serve the homeless on a Tuesday night (SHOPS)
-
taking part in one of several courses - either as a learner or helper
-
joining with others to read or study the Bible
-
meeting with others to pray
-
enjoying, helping or bringing others to church family events such as film nights, walks, picnics, football
-
opening your home and inviting folk round for a cuppa or a meal
-
inviting others to eat out, see a show, or meet up in town for coffee
These are just some of the ways folk are able to meet up in the week. To find out more about courses and small groups that are happening now, or available from time to time, read this article - Small Groups at ODC |
