RAGS TO RICHES
Rags to Riches raises money for our community projects such as our free debt counselling service by selling unwanted items to a recycling company.
This project came into being as we sought to clear away unsold and unsellable clothing and household fabrics received through donations to the Community Shop. We discovered that there was a market for such goods and so have fitted out a facility and developed a system enabling us to deal with such unwanted donations.
All donations to the Open Door Centre are processed by our volunteer sorting team into sellable and unsellable items.
The sellable items will go into the Community Shop to be sold; and the tatty, torn, worn out and unwanted fabric items will be bagged up and sold for rags. In both instances all money raised goes into funding our community projects.
CAN YOU HELP US?
If you are willing to help us in raising money so we can help those in need in our community then we would be most willing to receive your goods. How about a wardrobe clear out? Maybe encourage those in your school, family and friends, or workplace to gather items together?
We are able to recycle any fabric items such as...
cloths | towels | curtains | bedlinen | clothing | shoes | belts | bags
We are unable to accept pillows and duvets
Please bring your donations to the sorting shed at the back of the Open Door Centre

10.30am - 3.30pm
